For the past two decades, EA Sports and Nike have partnered to release footwear and apparel inspired by the video game publisher’s most popular franchises, such as the NFL Madden series. This year, the two brands are joining forces again to create a special edition of the Air Max 90.
To coincide with the release of the highly anticipated Madden 24 in August, Nike has designed the “Play Like Mad” Air Max 90. The sneakers feature a brown leather upper with textured football panels and the phrase ‘Play Like Mad’ printed on the side. The shoes also incorporate accents of blue, red, and white, which likely represent the EA Sports logo and NFL shield. These elements are found on the tongue and insoles of the sneakers. It’s possible that these colors are a nod to the game’s cover athlete, Josh Allen, who is the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.
Nike has not yet announced an official release date for the EA Sports collaboration. However, fans can expect the sneakers to drop sometime this summer on the SNKRS app for a retail price of $140. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.
