The collaboration between Compton rappers Tyga and YG is the perfect soundtrack for the sunny festivities in LA. The video for “West Coast Weekend” featuring Blxst captures the essence of the lavish pool parties that are just around the corner for the rest of us. Despite filming in the Hollywood Hills before the sun came out, the bikini-clad guests in the video can be seen having a great time, lounging on Lambos, enjoying the pool, and playing Twister on the lawn.
“West Coast Weekend” samples the iconic Cameo track, which has also been used in songs by Tupac, Beyoncé, and Mariah Carey. This single is part of YG and Tyga’s upcoming collaborative album, which they announced during Tyga’s performance at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles earlier this year. The two artists have already showcased their chemistry on tracks like Tyga’s “Go Loko” and YG’s “Run,” and they continue to deliver with their joint single, “Platinum.”
Both Tyga and YG have experience with collaborative album rollouts. Tyga previously worked with Chris Brown on the album “Fan Of A Fan” in 2015, while YG recently released their joint album “Kommunity Service,” which also featured a single with Blxst.
