LeBron James took the court for his first regular season game on October 29, 2003, with the expectation that he would go down as one of the greatest players of all-time. Nearly twenty years later, James has not only lived up to expectations—he’s exceeded them, having firmly established himself on the short list of guys in contention for the title of GOAT. Like James himself, his signature sneaker line has enjoyed a fair amount of success since that game. His latest model, the LeBron 20, even topped Complex’s list of the current best signature sneakers. However, his past models have also held up pretty well, including his first shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Generation.
For the AZG’s 20th Anniversary, several colorways, new and old, are slated to release throughout the year, including the “Debut” colorway. This pair, on James’ feet against the Kings in that October game, features a white leather upper, black mesh panels, red accents, and metallic silver trim. This isn’t to be confused with the also-returning “First Game” colorway, the varsity crimson pair worn by James in his first home game. The “Debut” Air Zoom Generation last re-released in 2017.
While an official release date hasn’t been announced, the “Debut” Air Zoom Generation is expected to release this summer for $180. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates for updates in the coming weeks.
UPDATE (06/17): Official images of this year’s “Debut” Nike Air Zoom Generation retro have emerged. As of now, release details have yet to be announced by the Swoosh.
