It seems that Nike is fully embracing the return of the Mac Attack, the signature sneaker of John McEnroe that was originally released in 1984. The upcoming retro version has already been seen as part of a collaboration with Social Status, and even in an exclusive edition created for Travis Scott. In addition to these releases, Nike is using these moments to create excitement around the original colorways, including the “Red Crush” colorway that has recently been revealed.
This pair, which was part of the lineup nearly 40 years ago, features a predominantly white leather and mesh upper, with accents of red on the Swooshes, heel, and outsole. The shoes also feature the same checkered tongue tag as the original.
The “Red Crush” Mac Attack is expected to be released this summer with a retail price of $120. Look out for official images and specific launch information in the near future.
